I love this granny square. The simplicity of this square makes it perfect for an easy baby blanket or birthday gift. I named this square after my youngest daughter who we have nicknamed Poppy because she was so small when she was born, like a poppy seed. She was not premie, but she was barely 6lbs. And even today as a 16-month-old she is still in 9–12-month clothes. It looks like she is going to be fun sized when she grows up.

Notes:
Yarn: Herrschners 2-ply Afgan Yarn
Hooke size: E3/3.5mm
Gauge: Using a Fine #2 weight yarn and E4 hook ch13, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch to end (10 st incl beginning ch3), turn *ch3, dc in each following stitch to end, turn*, repeat * until you have 5 rows total. Gauge is 10 stitches by 5 rows in a 2in x 2in dc swatch
Abbreviations:
MC: magic circle
Bibble: bobble stitch( 4dc, drop loop, insert hook in top of 1st dc, pick up lopp, sl st 1st and 4th dc together, ch1 to join)
TRC: trebble crochet
SC: single crochet
CH: chain stitch
DC: double crochet
