A Dress For A Poppy Seed

If I am completely honest, the only holiday I truly get excited for is Christmas. It’s the music, the lights, the gift giving. But maybe a distant second could be Easter because for the last three years I have been crocheting Easter cardigans for my girls. Just one for Lydia Mae the first year, and […]

This Week In The Garden

Friends it has been a while! I was contemplating changing the name of this series to “This Month In The Garden” but through May and June things will be changing so much that there is no telling how often I’ll be updating. First I want to go into how much my garden space has changed […]

Expanding Gladiolus – An Experiment

Before we get too far, I want to make sure we are clear about a few things. I do not know what I am doing. I know how to pull weeds. I know how to plant most seeds if there are directions on the package. I know that I live in zone 7b and try […]

Instagram, I’m Back

There was the initial shock and withdraws of not having those distractions anymore. They were as painful as they could be for someone who was in the habit of filling every spare minute with distraction. But after the first week or so I found that I was greatly relieved. After two weeks when I relearned how great it was to get through life without a dinging gremlin in my pocket I was empowered. It Turns Out, I have Anxiety

The last 12 months have been trying for me. After having my second child something in my body changed and I couldn’t sleep through the night even though my baby slept through the night by 4 months. Through some trial and error I learned that I could no long tolerate an ounce of caffeine or […]

Edible Flowers – part 1

I am sure that most of use have memories of eating honeysuckle blooms while growing up, but there are so many more flowers we can add to our meals. Some pack flavor, some add fragrance, and they all add life and fun to our meals. This week I want to list off a few flowers […]

I Have Built a Small Forest

Imagine a story book forest – it’s mostly filled with sprawling, lichen covered, live oak trees, there is plenty of room to wander around, maybe there’s a stream nearby. It’s straight up magic out of a fairytale and you can’t tell me otherwise. Okay so imagine you are a kid running around in there, but […]
